Phoenix Publishing and Media Group launched nine books in Malay in Malaysia on May 29 with a ceremony held at the China-ASEAN Book Culture Week during the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair.

The newly released books, translated into Malay, are divided among literary works and cultural topics.

Professor Chow Fong Peng from the University of Malaysia, who translated The Golden River and China's Changes in the Eyes of A European Sinologist, shared her experiences as a translator.

She expressed how Lu Min's novel The Golden River, focusing on the first generation of private entrepreneurs in post-reform China, captivated her with its vivid characters. Peng expressed her hope of translating more Chinese literary works into Malay to bring the two nations closer through shared reading experiences.

The successful launch of the books exemplifies the collaborative efforts of publishers and translators from both countries, reflecting the deepening cultural exchange between China and Malaysia. Looking ahead, the partnership in publishing is poised to yield even more fruitful results.
