Phoenix Science Press held a series of tea culture promotional events at the 55th London Book Fair in the United Kingdom on March 10, sharing Chinese tea and seal carving culture with participants from various countries.

The event featured two main sections, one for tasting tea and another for experiencing traditional seal carving. In the former, iconic Chinese teas such as Nanjing Yuhua, Biluochun, and West Lake Longjing were brewed on-site. Visitors could, under the guidance of tea masters, experience the unique flavors of different teas and learn about the brewing techniques and drinking culture of Chinese tea.

Based on designs from the Chinese text Classic of Tea, the seal carving experience section prepared over 50 seal stamps. Readers could choose their favorite calligraphy scrolls and personally stamp them, creating their own cultural works.

Alan Macfarlane, a fellow of the British Academy, delivers a speech at the event.

The event reached a climax with the arrival of Alan Macfarlane, a fellow of the British Academy and a professor of anthropology at the University of Cambridge. Professor Macfarlane delivered a speech titled "China and UK – Two Tea Empires", discussing the impact of tea culture on the historical and civilizational development of China and the UK from various perspectives, including religion, urban development, social life evolution, and its influence on the Industrial Revolution.

The "A Thousand-Mile Scented Journey" cultural promotion event began in 2024, pioneering a "tea-book-travel" integrated overseas cultural promotion model. It uses tea as a medium, high-quality books as carriers, and cultural tourism integration as a link to create experiential cultural exchange scenarios.

This project has already held several events in countries such as Germany, Chile, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, building bridges for cultural exchange between China and other countries.
