Yilin Press, under Phoenix Publishing and Media Group, hosted a promotional meeting for The Three-Body Problem graphic novel on Oct 17 during the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair to raise its international influence and export its copyrights to more countries.

Since its debut, The Three-Body Problem has won widespread acclaim from global readers due to its profound cosmology, unique imagination, and high literary attainment.

This work is a significant milestone in Chinese science fiction literature, effectively representing Chinese culture on the international stage. It also marks the first Asian novel to receive the Hugo Award for Best Novel, highlighting the emergence of Chinese science fiction on a global level.

The graphic novel version of the Three-Body series released by Yilin Press adapts The Three-Body Problem trilogy, with the first part set to be published in January 2025.

Zhang Yu, editor-in-chief of Yilin Press, stated that through the artist Wu Qingsong's painting style infused with Eastern aesthetics, The Three-Body Problem graphic novel combines traditional Chinese painting with a modern vibe, presenting the grand world of the novel in an artistic form that reflects Chinese aesthetics.

German sinologist Martina Hasse is the translator of The Three-Body Problem and has thus won the Kurd-Laswitz-Preis for the best-translated novel. She also shared the novel's fascinating aspects from the perspective of an overseas reader, believing that this graphic novel would surely be successful.

Over the past 20 years, Yilin Press has built the distinctive literary brand Yilin Science Fiction, witnessing the translation and publication of works by world-renowned science fiction masters such as Stanislaw Lem, Ted Chiang, Philip K. Dick, Andy Weir, and Shinichi Hoshi.

Publishers from multiple countries have expressed interest in acquiring the copyrights for The Three-Body Problem graphic novel. The rights have already been sold for German and Spanish editions, and negotiations for English, Japanese, French, Portuguese, and Turkish editions are also underway.
