Publishing businesses share experience in developing new media

A meeting on the new media development experience of the publishing industry in 2023 was held in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 15.

Sponsored by Phoenix Media Publishing Ltd & Phoenix Digital Media Ltd and Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc, experts and scholars of the publishing industry and relevant internet technology enterprises were invited to explore new media communication methods against the backdrop of artificial intelligence, as well as the trend of new media development.

As of the end of 2022, new media accounts owned by the publishing businesses in China had exceeded 10,000, with combined followers of over 1 trillion, according to Ao Ran, executive vice-president of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association, who gave a speech at the meeting.

In recent years, Phoenix Publishing and Media Group has established more than 200 new media accounts and as of September, these accounts had a total of over 17.8 million followers, while its digital platforms had more than 21.7 million users, said Li Zhenqiang, president of PPMG, at the event.

About 300 people from publishing and internet businesses attend the meeting.

Visits with participants touring local technological companies such as Silicon Intelligence and Crystal Computer Graphics Co were also arranged at the meeting to give people a better understanding of how technology empowers the publishing industry.
