Recipients of 'Golden Phoenix' Medals unveiled

Winners of the "Golden Phoenix" Medals were announced at the fourth Phoenix Writer Annual Conference, which was held in Nanjing on March 17.

The medals were given out to five experts in social sciences, education, literature, and publishing.

Hong Yinxing

Economist Hong Yinxing, who studies the Chinese path to modernization from the perspective of economics, has cooperated with PPMG for more than 30 years, starting with Hong's book Economics of Development being published by the Jiangsu People's Publishing House.

Since then, Hong has created a series of high-quality works in cooperation with the Jiangsu People's Publishing House, contributing to the transformation and development of China's economy. Hong's latest work, Chinese Path to Modernization series, is also set to be published by the Jiangsu People's Publishing House.

Lu Zhiping

Lu Zhiping, an educational expert, has made remarkable contributions to curriculum reforms in elementary education in China, the compilation of Jiangsu's teaching materials, and the high-quality development of PPMG's educational publishing.

In recent years, Lu has been focusing on the preservation and development of national culture. In 2017, under his general editorship, Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture (Jiangsu edition) was published by Phoenix Education Publishing Ltd and Commercial Press.

Shen Yubing

Professor Shen Yubing worked as editor-in-chief of nearly 40 art theory research monographs of the Phoenix Library. Shen's relations with PPMG can be traced back 30 years, when he wrote review articles for Jiangsu Pictorial sponsored by Phoenix Fine Arts Publishing Ltd.

Liu Yuejin

In cooperation with PPMG, Scholar Liu Yuejin has published numerous academic works on ancient Chinese literature.

Ye Zhaoyan

Ye Zhaoyan, a renowned Chinese writer and former editor of PPMG, has completed eight works over the past five years. In 1986, his first novel was published by Phoenix Literature & Art Publishing Ltd and in 2019, Nanjing: The Biography, which took him 40 years to complete, was published by Yilin Press, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his cooperation with PPMG.
