No 8 Pedoffie Street is part of an international co-publishing program entitled "Beautiful Childhood Stories of Growing Up" being carried out by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd.
The Chinese version of No 8 Pedoffie Street, written by a Hungarian writer, was published at the China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair (CCBF) on Nov 13 in Shanghai.
The book is part of an international co-publishing program entitled "Beautiful Childhood Stories of Growing Up" being carried out by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd, a subsidiary of Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG).
The program, which was officially initiated at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2017, invites writers around the world to write stories about growing up in order to showcase the various cultures and ways of life in different countries.
She Jiangtao, president of Phoenix Publishing & Media Inc, delivered a speech at the launch ceremony.
He said that the publication of No 8 Pedoffie Street indicates that the reading materials of Chinese children are not limited to just Chinese stories, but also stories from other countries.
Cao Wenxuan, a renowned children's book author in China, spoke highly of No 8 Pedoffie Street, saying that the book is a shining example of how to write fiction.
The "Beautiful Childhood Stories of Growing Up" book series is an exploration in global publication by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd, said Wang Yongbo, MD of the Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd.
He revealed that the third book in the series is about to be finished by a writer from New Zealand.
