Nanjing the Biography is set to be published in Russian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, and English, according to a signing ceremony between Veritas & Mercurius Publishing and publishers in the five countries held at the Nanjing venue of the Smart Beijing International Book Fair on Sept 28.
The book explores the history of China by taking a close look at Nanjing, according to the author Ye Zhaoyan.
Since Nanjing has become the first Chinese city to be named a UNESCO City of Literature, this book can be regarded as a "Gift from Nanjing".
Xu Hai, editor-in-chief of Phoenix Media, the parent company of Veritas & Mercurius Publishing, said that Nanjing the Biography interprets the spiritual disposition of Nanjing, and that its publishing in five languages will increase Nanjing's international influence.
