The Cloudy Bookstore, which was established by the Suzhou Xinhua Bookstore, opens to the public in Shushan, a village in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 25.

The bookstore is meant to improve public cultural services in rural areas and enrich the lives of rural residents.
In addition to serving as a place to read and borrow books, it will also help Shushan promote its local culture.
In order to further explore the village's cultural and tourism attractions, the Suzhou Xinhua Bookstore also invited two renowned presses – China Machine Press and Yilin Press – to establish a cultural and creative center, a literary creation center, and a book club at Cloudy Bookstore and Scholars Hotel to manage the bookstore.
The bookstore currently houses 3,000 types of books to satisfy the reading demands of local residents and tourists. It will also organize various cultural activities to make reading a part of the daily lives of local residents.
The Cloudy Bookstore is home to roughly 3,000 types of books, offering something for everybody.
In addition to serving as a place to read and borrow books, the Cloudy Bookstore also helps Shushan promote its local culture.
