Jiangsu-based Phoenix Publishing & Media Group (PPMG) deepened its ties with Arabic publishers at the 38th Sharjah International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates (SIBF) on Nov 12.

Many UAE publishers were impressed by the Chinese version of the autobiography of Sharjah emir Sultan Bin Mohammed Qasimi and expressed interest in importing more quality publications from PPMG.

Mr. Sun said PPMG will organize its subsidiary publishing houses to attend SIBF on a regular basis and seek cooperation, while Mr. Faisal proposed to host a specialized promotional event for PPMG and help its subsidiaries team up with Arabic publishers.

The delegates were also invited by the municipal publishing bureau of Sharjah to the city's specialized free trade zone for the publishing and printing industry, the first of its kind in the world.

The free trade zone hopes PPMG will take part in its development and integrate into both the Arabic and global publishing markets.

PPMG, according to Mr. Sun, will look into the policies of the free trade zone and encourage its subsidiaries to make the most of the platform to expand cooperation with publishers in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
