Over 4,000 representatives from over 130 countries and regions attend the 25th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in Kyoto, Japan. This year's theme was "Museums as cultural hubs: The Future of Tradition".

On invitation of ICOM and the Chinese Museum Association, editors of Museum International (Chinese Edition) by Yilin Press attended the 25th General Conference of ICOM in Kyoto, Japan, from Sept 1 to 7.

During the triennial gathering, executive editor-in-chief of Museum International, ICOM's peer-reviewed journal, had multiple discussions with the editor department of Museum International (Chinese Edition).

The two sides exchanged ideas on the editing and publishing of journals, the import of international academic publications, the development of new projects, the export of Chinese museums' research achievements, as well as facilitating scholarly communication via new media.

The publications of Yilin Press are on display during the 25th General Conference of ICOM in Kyoto, Japan, from Sept 1 to 7.

Museum International was initiated in 1948 as a flagship publication of UNESCO and an authentic magazine on international heritage protection issues.

In 2005, Yilin Press, a subsidiary of Phoenix Media, teamed up with UNESCO and started to translate and publish the peer-reviewed journal in China a year later.

Despite the change of sponsors from UNESCO to ICOM between 2014 and 2015, Museum International (Chinese Edition) remains a popular publication of Yilin Press.

Founded in 1946, ICOM is an international organization of museums and museum professionals. Its goal is to promote and protect all natural and cultural heritages.

Every three years, ICOM's General Conference brings together the international museum community as well as publishers around a selected theme to inspire discussions and exchange on museum-related issues.
