Enthusiasts of PPM publications spend the night at Purple Mountain and get in touch with Mother Nature on May 11.

A group of children from Nanjing in Jiangsu province, all enthusiasts of Phoenix Publishing & Media Inc's book series, had their memories of May 11 "flipped" by taking getting in touch with Mother Nature.

Inspired by the "Flip Class", which features blended learning, the activity was held with nature photographer and science promoter Zhang Hua, who led a group of local children through the grasses, rivers and trails of Purple Mountain.

Under the cover of night, both adults and children enjoyed the starry sky. Conversation ranged from how many insects there were in Nanjing to how they wanted to spend their lives.

The activity was a smooth opening for Poetic Nature, a series of themed activities launched by PPM's subordinate Phoenix International Book Center to enrich childhoods with nature and humanity.
