License Global, the premier publication and leading source of news and trends for global consumer products and the licensing industry, released a World's Top Leading Licensees report Aug 15, bringing together 175 of the best-of-the-best licensees across all categories, from apparel all the way to consumer electronics manufacturers.

Phoenix International Publications Inc (PIP), which is fully under the umbrella of Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc (PPM), a Jiangsu-based publishing giant, was included in the list's publishing category.

Seven other publishing houses were also included with the Chicago-headquartered producers of children's electronic books, such as Penguin Random House and the Scholastic Education Group.

This was the first time PIP had been included on the list, and the company took pride in topping the US market in children's interactive sound books. It has maintained smooth business operations in the face of various impediments, such as foreign exchange fluctuations, the serious situation of the global book retail market, and steep rises in the price of raw materials.

Taking licensees as a vital part of retail, License Global considered third-party services for design, distribution and manufacturing were a helping hand for licensors' products to reach as many retail shelves as possible. The report was compiled from reader surveys and License Global industry intelligence, and covers all major categories. It is not intended to be a comprehensive industry survey.
