A delegation led by John Edwards, the British Consul-General in Shanghai, visited Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG), the Jiangsu-based publishing giant, on June 1 for a diplomacy trip, to further strengthening hopes that China and the UK can work towards a "golden era" of ties. 

She Jiangtao, editor-in-chief and vice-president of Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PPMG, expressed his gratitude to the delegation, for their endeavors to promote cooperation between the two sides. 

He appreciated the continuous support the British Consul-General has offered to PPMG in its overseas promotion, such as the foundation of the Shakespeare Centre in Nanjing in 2016 jointly by PPMG, the University of Birmingham (UK), and Nanjing University, which is dedicated to the life and works of the famed British poet. 

He also looked forward to PPMG gaining more active support from the British government and further backup from the British Consul-General in Shanghai to boost its business development in the UK. 

Edwards was glad to see the two sides having worked together so successfully. He said, on the topic of Sino-British relations entering the "golden era", he hoped the two sides will conceive more exchanges and cooperation, especially in cultural and commercial aspects.

On May 30, it was named on the Top 30 Cultural Companies in China list for the 10th successive year.
