Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing promotes children's literature in Germany

The activities held in Munich, Frankfurt and Heidelberg under the theme "A Childhood Resonating with Readers Worldwide — The Publishing of German Versions of Works by Cao Wenxuan" proved popular among young German readers.
The activity held on Oct 10 at the International Youth Library in Munich attracted more than 200 German pupils.
On Oct 11, the German edition of Cao's novel House with Thatched Roof was launched at the booth of Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing at the book fair. A reading activity of the German edition of Bronze and Sunflower, Cao's other influential work, was also held at the booth. The renowned author attended the event and delivered a speech.
On Oct 12, the publisher attended academic exchange activities at the Children's Literature Forum at the fair. The publisher also conducted exchanges with students from the department of children's literature of Goethe University Frankfurt.
On Oct 13, the publisher attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition of China's contemporary children's picture books, during which Cao made another speech.
The activities are aimed at promoting the globalization of original children's literature published by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing and China's children's literature as well as boosting the profile of Cao Wenxuan and other Chinese authors.
Attendees of the above-mentioned events included Liz Page, secretariat of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), a non-profit organization representing an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together, Yin Xiaoping, deputy head of the Jiangsu Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Zhang Jiankang, chairman of Phoenix Publishing and Media Group, She Jiangtao, editor in chief and vice president of Phoenix Publishing and Media, and staff members of publishers and cultural organizations in the US, the UK, Italy and New Zealand.
