PPMG co-hosts Silk Road International Poetry Week
Poets from home and abroad have discussions at the opening ceremony of the Xichang Qionghai Lake Silk Road International Poetry Week on Oct 10 in Liangshan, Yi autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Sichuan province. |
The event was co-hosted by Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG), the largest media and publishing company in China.
It gathered more than 100 poets and publishers from China, the US, the UK, Latvia, Chile, Thailand, Argentina, Armenia and Poland, attracting famous Chinese writer Alai, Qiu Huadong, literary critic and director of Lu Xun Academy in China, Argentine poet Alejandro Vaccaro and Latvian poet Uldis Bērzi.
Distinguished guests from home and abroad attended the opening ceremony of the event which is aimed at promoting environmental protection and the concept of perfect harmony between man and nature.
The event featured three poetry recital activities and four theme forums in which poets exchanged ideas and shared their experience on poetry writing.
Sun Zhenfu, president of PPMG, and staff members of the publishing department of PPMG and Phoenix Literature & Art Publishing, a subsidiary of PPMG, also attended the event.
