Vietnamese delegation visits PPMG
A delegation headed by Pham Chi Thanh, editor-in-chief of the National Political Publishing House of Vietnam paid a visit to Jiangsu People's Publishing and its parent company, Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG), on Sept 12-13.
The delegates received a warm welcome from Zhang Jiankang, PPMG's chairman, and XuHai, president of Jiangsu People's Publishing.
During the meeting, the two sides briefed each other on their current achievements and future development blueprints. They also exchanged ideas on digital publishing and talent attraction and vowed to expand and intensify their cooperation.
Zhang noted that PPMG, China's leading media and publishing company attach great importance to the exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu People's Publishing and the National Political Publishing House of Vietnam. He expressed his eagerness to see more operations of PPMG in Vietnam.
Pham Chi Thanh said that the cooperation with Jiangsu People's Publishing has been fruitful and pleasant, adding that they wish to maintain the ties and make contributions to PPMG's expansion in their country.
The two publishers entered into a cooperation agreement and exchange of visits in 2008. So far, they have made considerable achievements in copyright trade. Jiangsu People's Publishing has made about 40 copyright exports to Vietnam with some books having far-reaching impact among the Vietnamese officials and party members.
Staff members of PPMG's other subsidiaries — Phoenix Education Publishing and Phoenix Fine Arts Publishing — also attended the meeting.
