Phoenix Media promoting Jiangsu publishing globally
American linguist and professional translator Brian Bies introduced the marketing of Jiangsu publishing outside China. In his opinion, high-quality content, accurate translation and diversified marketing hold the key to the internationalization of Chinese publishing.
Jin Xinrong, president of Nanjing University Press, Wang Yongbo, editor-in-chief of Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, Ltd, and Gu Aibin, president of Yilin Press, gave speeches about the globalization of Chinese academic books, children’s books and works of literature.
In the discussion session of the forum, audiences exchanged their opinions on how to help Jiangsu publishing go global with experts and publishers, including Wu Shulin, executive vice-president of the Publishers Association of China, Nie Zhenning, a veteran publisher and director at the Taofen Foundation, Zhang Zhiqiang, executive vice-president of the research institute of Nanjing University Press, Zhao Haiyun, Jin Xinrong, Wang Yongbo and Gu Aibin.
The forum also held an opening ceremony of three research and activity centers set up by Chinese Culture Translation and Studies Support (CCTSS) and Phoenix Media — CRC London, CRC New York and CRC Chicago. Zhang Jiankang, chairman of PPMG, and Huang Zhuoyue, director of CCTSS, delivered speeches at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, three salon brands were inaugurated at the forum — Reading China @ London, Reading China @ New York and Reading China @ Chicago.
