A board meeting was held for the joint venture (JV) between Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc and Hachette Livre on Feb 2, 2016.

The JV, called Hachette-Phoenix Cultural Development (Beijing) Company Ltd, saw its first meeting of its third term board directors discuss the JV’s progress. Seven directors including Mr. Chen Haiyan, Director and Chairman of the JV, and Mr. Arnaud Nourry, Director and Vice-Chairman of the JV attended the meeting. The management team of the JV and legal counsels of shareholders were also present.

All proposals put before the board were unanimously agreed on, including new terms for the board and the appointment of Xu Gefei as General Manager.

Mr. Chen Haiyan congratulated the JV's on its achievements in the past year, and requested a five-year plan for development including looking into diverse business models. Mr. Arnaud Nourry expressed higher expectations for the JV, and pointed out the importance of human resource management and the transformation of the current business model. Other directors such as Wu Xiaoping and She Jiangtao also proposed guidance for the JV's future development.
