The launch of PPM’s Chinese-learning APP
On May 26th, the Chinese-learning app, “Phoenix Chinese”, was launched at Pace University in New York City. This app was developed by the Confucius Institute, Pace University, Nanjing Normal University, and PPM.
Development on the app began in 2012. It is based off the HSK examination guide. It features four chapters with 76 lessons and has over 500,000 Chinese characters ,and has daily communication tasks as well as access to multimedia with network support. It combines a traditional language textbook with modern technology to meet the diverse needs of different learners.
Wu Xiaoping, Phoenix’s President, acknowledged the Confucius Institute at Pace University for its efficient cooperation, and said PPM will look for more ways to work with them in the future.
Taking part in the ceremony were representatives from Nanjing Normal University , Phoenix Publishing & Media, and the Confucius Institute.
The Pace Confucius Institute is the first to be university-based in New York City and has organized academic exchanges with China since 2010. It has also received the 2014 Confucius Institute Of The Year award. It was one of 25 winners out of 476 institutes from around the world.
