The opening ceremony of Director Lin Yuxian’s Under the Sicily Sun, the first love story filmed by Phoenix Legend Films Company, was held in Shanghai on Jan 2.

Zhou Dongyu, the female lead of Zhang Yimou's blockbuster Hawthorn Tree Forever, plays a Shanghai girl, while the popular South Korean singer-actor Lee Joon-gi plays a South Korean student in Shanghai.

Members of the production team come from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Italy and Malaysia.

The camera crew will leave for Italy after shooting finishes in Shanghai.
